The Cattle Market

THE CATTLE MARKET used to exist where the Junction (Clifton Road) now stands. It was provided by the Corporation at a cost of about £15,000, and was opened September 28th. 1884

In 1965 trading in corn ceased after a new corn exchange was built at the cattle market at a cost of £9,000. The building was hardly used and was hired out as a warehouse.
