"The Best Diversity Has to Offer"A review of Al Amin by Amr - Thursday 15th of December 2005Advertisements
I've been going to Al Amin since I was a student at Cambridge many years ago. In that time it has gone from merely one of several frankly drab "ethnic" food shops, to being a real modern delight to the shopper. The recent refit was definately an improvement - fridges keeping the fruit fresh and the deli is a true delight. You can taste a variety of African/west indian, Asian (Indian and Chinese/Thai) and middle Eastern favourites. The range is impressive! The only criticism is that I think it's becoming a victim of it's own success as the shop can be fairly crowded at times and despite the best efforts of the very friendly and cheerfull management and staff, it can take a little time to be served (think after friday prayers at the nearby mosque). all in all a pleasure to shop there and a real asset to the Cambridge food scene!! |
