"Review of Midsummer House"

A review of Midsummer House by Lidia - Wednesday 23rd of April 2003

The food is good, if not spectacular - almost tries too hard to be 'different'.
Main comment is that the service is far too intrusive. I went to lunch with a friend I had not seen for some time, and we were constantly interrupted. If, as a guest, you request help with ordering, then you can expect long drawn out explanations of the dishes on order, but this was forced on us, - being offered a chocolate with coffee should not include a full description of every ingredient either.
Altogether much too pretentious for my taste.
