A review of Scruffs Hairdressing by Marianne Hall - Sunday 22nd of January 2006
I came back from a recent hol in the sun and was recommended to O'Dells hairdressers in Kings Hedges Road for their low cost and early appointment..........I have been a customer at Scruffs for the last year and ALWAYS had superb treatment and results (so WHY, oh WHY, did I risk this stupid idea of going somewhere cheaper where I might get an appointment quicker????)
Anyway, the crux of this story is that the two sisters who run O'Dells decided to give me a matt, heavy dark brown carpet to replace my lovely blonde, highlights and superb cut (which didn't even need a trim!!). The overall result was appalling - friends, neighbours, and new husband were all horrified at the end result from O'Dells - there was a step of around 4" below a new layer that one of the 'sisters' had put in my hair so now I have to wait for at least EIGHT MONTHS before this can be rectified/rescued by EXPERIENCED AND HIGHLY QUALIFIED STAFF (esp Gary and Donna) at Scruffs. The moral of the story: there is no economy for GOOD haircare/style/colour..................this time I really did get what I paid for. Worst of all, I ended up paying a whacking £150 for the worst hair nightmare I have suffered in 20 years. Don't go to O'Dells at Kings Hedges Road (regardless of who recommends you to visit them!). You will have a nightmare time unless you want to look like your Granny (or worse)!
Yes, got my money back eventually but what's £50 when you have to wait for EIGHT MONTHS OF YOUR LIFE TO PASS BY TO GET THINGS RIGHT AGAIN???!!!
Please take heed - this is not a malicious review - just one to make you aware that you really do get what you pay for! I have had a refund but big deal............this is my 50th year celebration in 2006 and a great look this bunch have given me!
Keep at the good work, Scruffs.............no wonder Jamie Oliver thinks you're so fab..........so do I!
