"What ever happened to the Fountain??"

This used to be one of the best pubs in town - rare old gem with original features and freindly "local" feel - now it is like walking into the Regal Rejects party with the menu and prices of All Bar 1. Does anyone know of a non-pretentious pub on regent street where you are not in danger of getting stuck between two ben sherman clad lager louts? as a female I used to feel safe in the Fountain - not anymore, and the new "DJ booth" looks like it's been deliberately put there to hide what's really going on in the gents... scary!
