"Worse than airline food"

We sat for a while before I got up and approched a waitress for a menu. Had one thrust at me without her even making eye contact. Ordered fish and chips which was absolutely dreadful. Thin layer of dried up fish surrounded by concrete batter. Of course, you dont complain or send it back as you're in a rush. Is this the trick? Another customer (American) asked a waitress for some ranch sauce which she didnt understand. When he had gone she said that she thought he was a nuisance.
