Maybe you had a bad experience with a hairdresser at Toni and Guy, but I assure you we are not all 'thick' and 'can't get a job anywhere else' - I worked there for three years and am now starting my Phd in Linguistics, which from the quality of your post I deduce is better than whatever you are doing at the moment. I agree that customers should be made to feel relaxed and welcomed, however.
