"A Gem of a Hospital"A review of Brookfields Hospital by Sandra Waller - Tuesday 8th of August 2006Advertisements
My aunt is currently being nursed in Brookfields Hospital, Lord Byron Ward, in her very declining years (or months?) and I am so impressed with the standard of care the staff give, the cleanliness of the place, and the general cheerfulness and welcoming atmosphere. Her sister, my mother, is 10 years younger and suffering from the early stages of dementia. I would hope that she could look forward to, if it becomes necessary, spending the end of her time in as pleasant an environment - but I am appalled to find that this excellent unit is now under threat of closure. This will be such a tragedy - what are the 'powere that be' thinking of - or is it just the pounds signs, as usual! |
