Anything you buy is cheaper somewhere else. Do we have cars that cost more than others? Do we have gas that cost more than the station across the street? Does the same clothes at one store cost more than at one without a fancy name? this is just business. Each person chooses the amount they are willing to pay for a certain level of quality. Everyone has to choice to go where they want to. About the pay, jobs like that are not set up to raise a family on unless you work up to salaried manager. At that pay you still won't get rich, but people at other jobs are not making more than you as a General Manager. No where does it say you have to work in the restaurant industry. Just like other industries, it's not for everyone. Either own your own business or just do the best you can with the opportunities available to you.
