"8 years down the line and I'd be happy to go back!"A review of Stead & Simpson by Stickm - Thursday 5th of October 2006Advertisements
I worked with Stead & Simpsons for 8 years, first starting when I was just 16 and finally leaving a year after graduating, and although the wages aren't really that competitive I'd quite happily go back just for the working environment. It is the company's highest perogative to ensure high standards of customer care and each branch must hold frequent training sessions to ensure its staff is aware of how each shoe is manufactured, how to care for them, and most importantly how to care for the customer. With regards to the customer who ordered the pair of Doc Marts, it sound like your shoes would have been sent through by another branch - but it is the onus of each branch to ensure that every pair of shoes they send using the dial-a-shoe service is both sent and received in the appropriate condition. The fortnight delay allows for transport on the delivery vans- if the shoes had come directly from the warehouse they would have been with you by the next delivery date. Unfortunately it sounds as though your case was not handled particularly well although if I had been dealing with it we would have ensured you recieved another pair asap (posting them to the branch if necessary) and we would have probably given you an allowance for the shoecare as well to help maintain the life of your shoes. Hope this helps and if in doubt check your consumer rights but at the same time please bear in mind that memebers of staff are also briefed in these, therefore going off at the deep-end and shouting the odds will not secure you any better customer service than the company already offers. |
