Not sure how much credence we should give the above post. Many colleges at Oxbridge use their facilities for conference (that is if their grounds are as picturesque as Homerton) and it has been a long standing tradition to not offer accommodations for undergraduates -graduates remain in house- out of term time (at least for the past 300 years or so). It seems Rg's only complaint is that Homerton has adhered to the long standing traditions of Cambridge colleges (even Byron was tossed out of Trinity at Christmas)...which incidentally would have been clearly stated when he signed his contract upon accepting his offer. 
 
Beautiful grounds and facilities for conferences btw...
