"Why you SHOULD buy from B&Q!"

A review of B & Q by Richard - Sunday 14th of January 2007

Having read a lot of different reviews of B&Q and used them myself on many occasions, it has come to my attention that most problems can generally be avoided from the start.

The most obvious one is, if your going to have anew kitchen, don't rip the old one out until it is delivered. This makes basic sense, things do go wrong from time to time, it's human error, you'll never correct that. There are also a lot of throw away comments, such as 16 week delivery times??

Whilst this is happened before, consider this. B&Q is the biggest DIY store in the whole of Europe. They fit and deliver more Kitchens and Bathrooms than ANY other retailer in the UK. If you order mid January the delivery will be around 8 - 12 weeks. They can't help it, thats just the way it is. This also makes sense.

Okay Okay, they don't always get it right, just like other shops such as Homebase or Focus. 40% of B&Q's profits come from their showroom department, if they got it really wrong, they wouldn't be here. Just think of the minority of these complaints and then think in comparison how many people have recieved everything with no problem.

And last but not least, the staff try to make sure everything is put in the right place and is correctly labled. 9 times out of 10, it is us customers that rip off the label to take it to the till or put down a product in the wrong place. You can also not demand to pay the cheaper price if it is in the wrong place, there is no law which stipulates this, the correct procedure is that the shop can refuse to sell the product, correct the problem in 24 hrs and then re-sell it.

Hopefully this clears a few things up. Think before you moan!

Richard.
