"Zenith - the good and not so good"
A review of Zenith Windows by Invisiblebloke - Tuesday 27th of February 2007
Nice product but very expensive. I found the discounts and incentives confusing and the final sales pitch stressful. The selling technique is subtle. If I hadn't done my homework beforehand (thanks to all the previous reviews) I might have missed what was going on. First the product introduction, then the showhouse offer, the measuring, the calculating, the explanations for the staggering price (5 figures) and then back to the showhouse offer. The 'showhouse offer' price would apparently bring it down by almost 50% - but we had to do the deal there and then. When I declined the showhouse offer - which I was told was 'very unusual', the sales person 'rang the manager'. I was then offered a final price for a closure there and then, which amounted to approximately 60% of the initial price quoted. I declined. The sales person finally left after some 2 and a half hours without a done deal, as I had already explained right at the beginning that I was getting other quotes and that I would pick the one who offered the best combination of price/quality/customer service - when I was ready, and not before. When one reads a product review, one should take what is said with a pinch of salt. However, I was amazed to find myself experiencing a sales pitch unfold almost exactly as it had been described by others. My advice - do your home work, tread carefully, don't jump in - unless you really are being offered a great deal.
