"Irritating"A review of Bay Trading by Char - Friday 9th of March 2007Advertisements
I have read all the reviews here and find it so irritating when people who have perhaps shopped in one or two Bay stores find it neccessary to condemn the whole chain. I work in Dolcis, Bay Trading every Thursday and Sunday in Tunbridge Wells and would like to point out that firstly, Dolcis staff get the same as Bay staff, and it is above the minimum wage (minimum wage for 16 to 18 year olds is £3.40). The Dolcis stock is only put out if there is nothing wrong with it, and any default stock is either sent back or when the shoes are of different sizes, put out in sale stock with a label saying the different sizes, and I have only seen this done once. Staff are given training (I started with no experience of retail) I don't know about the stores people have complained about in here, but it does take at least half an hour to completely tidy and clean the shop, as well as cashing up, which, if changing rooms were closed then this would be the reason why. Perhaps if more people were inclined to put clothes back on the correct hanger, without the item in question being inside out then we would not have to close the changing rooms. I also think you'll find that other high street chains will close their changing rooms early to ensure they can tidy up, for example I have seen Topshop in Tunbridge Wells do so, and also New Look. The staff that I work with are all friendly, unless a customer is rude to them, and we all have conversations with our customer and if someone asks us a question we are always happy to help or if someone is looking for something particular but are not sure where it may be we will show them or offer alternatives. The quality of stock in Bay is better than stated in some of the reviews here. I have several items of clothing from Bay, infact most of my wardrobe is consited of Bay clothing and have had absolutely no problems with them, the same goes for Dolcis shoes. I hope people who are thinking of trying out Bay Trading in the fulture will do as I find it is one of my favourite stores and was even before I worked there. |
