"You’ll probably end up visiting here by default, but I wouldn’t make a special e"
A review of The Fountain by Shelley - Thursday 15th of March 2007
The Fountain Inn feels bare and uncomfortable, and is a place to visit only when already drunk. It offers a minimal menu comprised of practically just pizza or sandwiches. Drinks prices aren’t too bad, not as expensive as The Castle, but not as cheap as The Regal, both of which are situated virtually next door. It feels like The Fountain is trying to be something that it’s not, a pub trying to be a trendy bar. The do however, have a late license, allowing them to open until 2am Monday-Thursday and 3am Friday and Saturday, making it a prime target for students on their way back from most other pubs, which close earlier. They also offer an ‘open I-pod’ night on Thursdays, which is a brilliant idea and a great opportunity to be introduced to new music and bands. You’ll probably end up visiting here by default, but I wouldn’t make a special effort.
