He sells a sack of 25 kilos of white spuds for £5.50. Considering Asda charges 73p for 2.5kg of smartprice potatoes (taste fine to me!) that would make Asda's price for 25 kg £7.30. So you save £1.80 by buying 10x the weight. Not much of a saving and by the time you eat 25 kilos they would be sprouting and less tasty. Tesco value spuds are £1.49 for 5 kilos. When I lived in Yorkshire you could get 25 kilo sacks for £2.99! |
