I'm sorry, but at least half the reviews here are obviously fake, or at best exaggerated. Scruffs is fantastic, easily the best salon in Cambridge.
Yes, Scruffs is expensive, but the price list is available before you go, and you can choose which level of stylist you want (personally, I'd always recommend Gary or Grant).
You really do get what you pay for though - I've been going there for at least three years now and I've never, ever had a bad hair cut. In fact, I don't even make a suggestion about how I want my hair cut anymore, I trust them implicitly and I've never come out with anything less than a fantastic cut that suits both my hair type, face shape and styling routine.
Yes, it can be difficult to get through on the phone, but if you leave a message you always get a call back within an hour. And the 'girls' who work there are always very polite and friendly (I can't believe one reviewer wasn't offered a drink immediately, to be honest, because I always am).
Gary and Grant (the owners and directors) are cheerful and chatty and yes, there is some banter between them and other stylists there, but its never rude (again, I can't believe that anyone who works there would have made the comments one reviewer suggested at all).
Instead its funny and lighthearted; you come out smiling (and not just because of the fabulous haircut you have!).
