"Absolute disgrace"
A review of The Peking Restaurant by Alsie - Monday 7th of May 2007
As a party of 12 we booked into the Peking at 9 O'clock on a Saturday night, after inspecting the menu I thought the prices were execptionally high, when I asked if there had been a printing error (£7 for an egg fried rice) I was told that you pay for the quality at the Peking so we thought ok we will go with this and ordered a selection of set meals. When the starters came out we were not disapointed and were certainly as good as anywhere I had eaten before. When the main course came all the food had chilli which was not to all our parties taste and was certainly not of the quality I was expecting. We had just finished the main coarse when the waiter came up with washing up bowls and said it was time to go and presented us with a bill just shy of £400, we asked what about deserts and coffee and were met with "we are closed now you pay you go" this left us with little choice Why would they take a booking for a party of 14 at 9pm if they close at 11pm???? Clearly this establishment is more interested in taking its customers money, than offering an exceptional dining experiance
