I'm trained to "senior product advisor" at H%B and I can can inform you on practically anything on the bloody shelf. But when I wasn't trained I would haul out this fecking great book that tells us everything we need to learn along the way.

So the problem you are describing isn't untrained staff, it's an idiot who couldn't be bothered to help you, who should have taken up a career at McDonald's drive thru.
