"Where is Boots going?"

A review of Boots The Chemist by Devonsongbird - Friday 25th of May 2007

I am really disappointed by the changes in the Exeter store. More than half the ground floor is now make up and fragrances, things in which I have minimal interest but I guess it shows where they make their money. The pharmacy has gone upstairs which is very inconvenient. In every area other than make up etc it seems as if the stock has been significantly reduced and this is particularly noticeable in the food dept. I used to think - in principle still do - that the meal deal is quite a good deal BUT the choice is now so restricted: by 1.00 there may be no sushi left; today there were no smoothies at all (and the last couple of times I've looked there was very little choice); the cereal bars (which used to include a very nice cranberry/blueberry one, not seen for weeks) all had chocolate, yoghurt or nougat, i.e. all MUCH TOO SWEET. They're concentrating on the sweet drinks and snacks definitely. And if I had stayed to purchase anything the queue was a mile long because they seem to have abandoned the quick till. I for one will in future be an infrequent visitor.
