"Further replies to other responses"A review of KFC by Chansm - Thursday 31st of May 2007Advertisements
Just had a look through this list again, and would like to point out the following: Dean Wood: I cannot excuse the attitudes of the staff, however the fact of the chicken taking that length of time to cook is correct - 15 minutes frying time, and 5 minutes preparation time. This applies to the on-the-bone chicken used in buckets. One of the reasons they wouldn't have had any that late is because (like other businesses) they try to keep their waste to a minimum, so cook as little as they can towards the end of a shift (even cook to order, as I have done in store several times). There was also mention of being shortchanged (Paul McGlynn, I think), namely either not getting the correct change at the till, or being short some items of chicken. We are only human, and we make mistakes - I have done it a couple of times. As with any transaction, check your change just as you would with the supermarket, or the pub, and also have a look in the bag at what you ordered... if you ordered at 14 piece bucket and it looks like there is only 6, tell them. They WILL sort it out for you there and then. Agreeing with the person who posted before me, you CAN just buy chicken on its own, rather than in a meal (with fries and a drink) - if any restaurant tells you otherwise, its on their till under ALC (A La Carte), there are buttons on there for 1, 2, 3, 6 and (I think) 12 pieces. All stores will attempt to sell you a product with fries and drinks, as this ups their sales and profits, but you DONT have to. Pamela Blair - yes, some staff do get the rough end of the stick - my wife and I both get called in on days off, asked if we can get a babysitter so that we can do doubleshifts etc. And yes, we still get treated like dirt. However, its a job... she can resign (as we are thinking of doing), but it is one of those industries where it is difficult to get reliable people in to do the jobs. They are just taking a little too much advantage of that fact. Someone mentioned something about GHB? What the heck is that? Maybe an abbreivation that I'm not aware of, but nothing that I have come across comes anywhere near to that... Kee - best bet is to go to the relevant restaurant and ask to apply to join there... Joe - you mentioned about the 'nuggets'? On trial in the North of the UK at the moment are BBQ Boneless Bites - about the same size as nuggets, coated in a honey & BBQ sauce. Quite tasty... but they are only on trial at the moment. |
