"The Pitt Club Is Not The Pitts"
A review of The Pitt Club by Richard Cummings - Thursday 28th of June 2007
I was a membe of the Pitt Club when I was at Cambridge in the early Sixties. As an American, I found the club to be friendly and not at all snobbish. It made a black Trinidadian a member, without a fuss. There were a number of Jewish members. The Pitt Ball was memorable, dazzing really. My only regret is that I left Cambridge without becoming a life member, which would have cost about ninety pounts. I would love to be a life member in my dotage because of my fond memories of wonderful dinners and terrific people.
