"Ding-Ding! Hold very tight please."

A review of Newmarket Road Park & Ride by Tim Wallis - Tuesday 10th of July 2007

I have been using the Newmarket Road Park and Ride every weekday since the middle of February. The service until recently was excellent, but has been bugged of late by vehicle breakdowns, late runnings and inexplicable (and unexplained) gaps in the service, with early evening delays often extending to half an hour.
The final straw came this morning; I caught the 7.40am bus from Newmarket Road, aiming for my usual destination at the back of the Grafton Centre. The bus has stopped there every morning since I've been using it (I believe it is a mandatory stop), but this morning the driver roared past and when queried said that no one had rung the bell, before going into a long diatribe about not telling him how to do his job!
So the moral to this tale is "If in doubt, RING THAT BELL!"
