One serious point: I doubt if there are many "vicious" comments here. What you find is that there are many customers who, like me, experience outrage, frustration, distress etc because of the way in which B&Q treat us when something goes wrong. If this spills over into immoderate language at times, it is little wonder. If this is anything to do with "people trying to do their jobs", it is really about the jobs B&Q train their people to do. For example, I have just received a third letter from their Northern Division office which simply repeats the one point in my complaint about which there is no dispute (and which therefore suits them to repeat) and ignores all the other points I have raised. This is clearly a deliberate avoidance of engaging with the issues raised by the customer and I suspect is what these people are trained to do. And that, it seems to me, points to a company ethos, a corporate responsibility rather than an individual's.
As to the spelling and grammar of the contributions to this forum, these are irrelevant. I have great admiration for anyone who, probably knowing that he/she struggles a bit with the technicalities writing, is prepared to post in a public forum.
And, oh dear El Tel, anyone who makes public pronouncements criticising the spelling and grammar of others should be doubly careful to get these right. It should be "correspondent", not "correspondant".
(That last point is just to raise to a smile, by the way!)
