"Another day in paradise"A review of Marmaris by Colette - Wednesday 12th of September 2007Advertisements
what a shame that a girl felt betrayed by a young turkish man. And how horrible it is that girls go over there fall in love only to find out that the love of there life has moved on when they have left. Get real , try talking to them, instead of just expecting them to be sooooo grateful for your attention and the nights of loveless sex. The boys are often from very harsh and unforgiving backgrounds, they work the most horrendous hours and then in the winter go and work elsewhere continuing to support there family,s. most earn at best £300.00 a month and they sit and watch us (yes I am as guilty) drinking through the best part of two months salary. Then you are telling them how much you love them and that you will write and call and come back. And we all know that when the holiday blues pass that we will get on with our lives until its time to book that holiday again. I have sat and watched the hearts of seveteen year olds and seventy year old women break. but I have seen the look in the boys eyes , of hope and of disgust. your holiday is what you make it, if you are realistic and you spend time getting to know the people you can have a wonderful time. the trick is to manage your expectations and use precautions. I love the Turtle bar , i have been twice this year and like others have found then welcoming , friendly and I always knew if I had any problems that they would be there to help. It is a home from home and they cater for young , old and the singles and couples alike. especially good with children and the guys next door who arrange the trips are fun and friendly. If you dont want a trip just be polite and remember everyone is just trying to make a living. for those who like there music and want to pump it up 12-2 is the time to go and for those who like a little R&B 3 am is when it kicks in. Bingo is at 2 every afternoon and if you need a laugh watch the boys play ! Jabba does the karioke and has a fab voice, in fact its amazing how many wonderful singers there are. I enjoy Mamaris and especially the strip, but the Turtle bar has my heart for its allround sense of fun and friendship. It is important to remember that they are different and a little respect goes along way and it works both ways. |
