The Grapes meets many needs, from the extremely pleasant and well kept beer garden to the warmth and friendly atomsphere inside. A traditional pub with well kept quality ales, of consitant high standard makes it a safe bet for any one like me with sensitive stomach. As said by "Louis" the food is excellent and good value for money.  
 
It is a place you can safely take friends for a pleasant and convivial evening without fear of being molested by agressive drunks or other trouble makers. The landlord quielty sits there batting away anyone likely to ruin the enjoyment of other customers. Any one speaking badly of the pub is probably one of those refused entry!  
 
I can highly recommend the Grapes to anyone from Student, to Professional from Artisan to well all who are out for an enjoyable evening, or indeed lunchtime!
