"Your contract is with Aldi not the manufacturer"

A review of Aldi by Anne - Tuesday 13th of November 2007

When you purchase a product from Aldi or any other shop/store, you, as the customer, pay for it. This forms a contract in law. Your contract is not with the manufacturer, you did not buy it from the manufacturer you bought it from Aldi. The 30 day get out is spurious - Aldi have a 3 year guarantee on their products and most UK shops offer 1 year guarantees. If your product fails as yours has done, Aldi must sort it out for you, not the manufacturer(who have a contract with Aldi) Your statutory rights can not be overridden by Aldi's 30 day nonsense. Look into the Sale of Goods Act and visit the OFT website for further guidance.
