"TATTIES TRINITY STREET"
A review of Tatties Cafe Restaurant by Tatties fan - Thursday 15th of November 2007
Hello everyone!!! I have been reading all of the reviews on Tatties, I would just like to put people straight. The original tatties was opened in 1981 on regent street in cambridge, they then closed down and opened on sussex street! Tatties was brought By 2 men who also owned Cafe trinity (trinity street, cambridge) They then in 2004 changed the trinity street cafe to Tatties. in 2005 the 2 partners split, one took 100 percent control of Tatties on trinity street and the other tatties on sussex street was sold on to a Kurdish man, who also owns anatolia on bridge street. The tatties on sussex street has gone drastically down the line. There was a small legal battle as the Owner of trinity street tatties was unhappy with the reputation the name 'Tatties' was gaining through bad service, unpaid supplier bills, etc etc from the sussex street tatties. The Name Tatties is a generic for the scotish name for potato. so unfortanetly the name tatties can not be removed the tatties on sussex street. If you now look at the Tatties on sussex street they have added 'cambridge ltd' to the bottom of the tatties logo, they have also changed the colours to red etc etc. they also no longer have the right to have 'established 1981' If you now go to the Tatties on trinity street you can see the ORIGINAL tatties lol, being able to have 'established 1981' on. also in the ORIGINAL green colour and you can still recieve the ORIGINAL service!!!
