A review of AWG Windscreens by Mark Glover - Sunday 25th of November 2007
I recently experienced obtaining a damaged windscreen to my Mercedes and presumebly done the same as everyone else in my situation and contacted my Insurance company who were efficient enough to put me in touch with there recomended and associated company to carry out the replacement for me. Never Again!. It took me 2 days to get a response out of the company who informed me i would have to wait a further 5 days before they could carry out the work and i would have to take half a day of work to take the car to them for them to carry out the work. Not happy i went back to my inswurance company to complain that their nominated repairer could not carry out my repair as quickly as i would like and asked if i could use another windscreen company to carry out my repair, to be told that if i wished to use an alternative company they would limit the amount that they would cover the cost of to £125.00 because i was not using their recommended supplier. Annoyed and desperate to get my car repaired i decided to hunt around for an alternative company who could repair my car quicker.
i contacted AWG Windscreens in Cambridge who quoted me £296 + VAT for my windscreen which i initially thought was exspensive! How wrong was i!!, to make sure i contacted my insurance companys recommended supplier to obtain there price to be quoted £837 + VAT!!! i was gob smacked. i quickly rang AWG back to check they had got it right, i spoke with a gentleman called Andy who was very helpfull and informed me there was no mistake and assured me that the glass i would get from them was exactly the same as i would get from my insurers nominated supplier. Delivery was the very next day and was at 2pm as agreed. The work was carried out painlessly and without fuss, i cannot fault the service i recieved and would not hesitate in reccomending AWG Windscreens in Cambridge - Thank you AWG!!!
