"A much more positive experience than zero's"
A review of Golden House by Rob Barton - Wednesday 19th of December 2007
So I wanted some dinner this evening before going out and, since I work on Regent St, it had to be local. Google pointed me to Cambridge Online, and on to the Golden House. I though let's give it a try. Fearing a long delay, I phoned with 30 minutes notice and eventually made my point about not wanting it straight away (well, the TVs are always on too loud in take aways). I was initially impressed because my order of beef in black bean sauce and rice was greeted with a return question of how spicy I would like it. I never realised there was the choice, so stayed relatively safe by opting for medium. Anyway, I turned up on the dot to be greated with a smile and my order ready straight away and piping hot. I noticed they'd thrown a complementary bag of prawn crackers in too, not bad for such a small order. They even offered my a quality street as I left. Back in the office, the food was still hot and tasty. I noticed there was rice built in to the black bean sauce dish. If you were a glass half empty person you would see that as a lack of communication, or as missing beef. But given the rather large size of the portions I would prefer to consider that as bonus rice. I would definitely order from there again.
