Hi, I was looking on the web to find some wood for my students for their coursework and came accross this... I have spent far too much of my time reading all the responses but have basically agreed with all of you. The precarious coin flips both sides, sometimes good, sometimes bad. I worked for a retail company and yes customers are very difficult sometimes but enjoy the challenge. I have also been one of the upset and angry customers when things have gone wrong and my fuse has sparked. Last year I was in tears due to our kitchen we ordered from another company and I feel for those going through it at present. Our kitchen is finished but only because I would not be taken for a ride. Find out your rights and use the information wisely and with respect. Remember the retail staff are human and can get hurt but they also may not neccersary know the legalities about customers rights as well as theirs. They can refuse to serve or talk to you because of your agressive presence, so both be nice and put yourselves in each others shoes.
I shop at B and Q alot and the staff have good and bad days but I go in get what I want, know what I am talking about, but it and leave. If you dont know about something best thing to do FIND OUT...get informed about the products, materials etc Happy New Year
