"Against the disabled."
A review of The Mill by E.Hall - Wednesday 16th of January 2008
There were five of us round the table, talking amiably. We had each had two drinks, but were not particularly drunk, and certainly not rowdy. The owner came over and started talking to us. He seemed, drunk, but friendly, and generally complimented me - it is not unusual for strangers to proclaim how brave/awesome/etc I am. He asked Jon who looked after me and I replied that I looked after myself - also not an unusual exchange. After a bit more chat he leaves and returns, and seems preturbed by something. He asks if we're joking. We reply that we are not. He then returned again, and without warning picked me up by the coat collar and draged me along the floor towards the door. I queried "What? What f**k is going on?" He informed other patrons that I am "making it up" and "taking the piss". My friends lept up and protested "He's disabled. What are you doing? He has a scooter outside". I was dropped by the door and leave. I heard the owner shout that he doesn't care if we prosecute. All other patrons upped and left in sympathy/fear/disgust. My friends were very preturbed, and called the police. The other patrons were very supportive. The police are now dealing with the issue.
