"Harsh end for loyal stead and simpson staff"

I just wanted to send my best wishes to all of those employees who had the dreaded phone call today telling them they were out of a job, there seems to be no rhyme or reason to the choice of shops to be closed and the ones to continue trading, some of our best shops are going,it seems to be more about where you are sited and if you have a shoezone already in the town.I too found out information on the internet before any information was given out by the company,the staff should have been kept informed every step of the way where as in reality we have been kept in the dark, most of the staff are hard working and have been put under extreme pressure over the last few months. Some stores were closed without warning at 1pm today and loads more told they were being made redundant at the end of March. I have worked for this company for a long long time and have seen many changes over the years but this is the end of an era and for those of us that remain things will never be the same again.It is really sad and I hope all of you that are out of a job manage to find something soon.
