I've been using Buckies in Cambridge to buy interesting gifts for about 10 years. I've always found the staff there extremely helpful and knowledgeable. They are friendly and patient. I've bought things from them through the post and it's always arrived quickly and well packed. They always have in stock nice things like Victorian tiles, cranberry glass items, antique spoons and other knick-nacks. If you are looking for a gift idea, a piece of reasonably priced small silverware, and something out of the ordinary, this is the best place I know in Cambridge.
