I have noticed the same thing. The quality seems to be gone in the pizza industry. It is as if the companies, as well as the employees, just don't care. It is not just Pizza Hut...it is Dominos and Papa Johns also. I don't care about calories; I just want a decent amount of toppings and a good tasting pie.
