I used to love this place - cheap food, friendly service, decent choice of beers.. What has gone wrong?? I've just been there with a group of friends and had the worst evening out EVER. There were seven of us there sitting quietly, and we ordered 5 pizzas, six beers and 2 glasses of water. We were refused water on the account that it didn't make any profit to the landlord!!! An hour or so later a member of bar staff spilt a glass of cider all over my friend, but they didn't even mention a possibility of replacing the drink! When we asked the owner/manager what's going on, he told us that landlords in other pubs also don't wan't to give water to customers but they just don't have the balls to say so (!?) When asked to clarify he told us to clear off! It was certainly my first time ever to be kicked out of a pub, and I've been in quite a few of them in my 30 years. None of us will go back there any time soon, but more importantly I feel it is such a shame when greed takes over and makes seemingly nice people into rude rambling clowns
