"Take a closer look....."
A review of Halfords by Steve - Tuesday 12th of February 2008
Everyone single one of us has had some sort of poor shopping experience in the past, its inevitable. Halfords in particular can by no means call itself a leading retailer, the term 'running before you can walk' comes to mind! However from my experience no-one is perfect. Regretably a majority of the general public these days lives in an 'I want it now!' fairytale land! A huge amount of money, or should i say credit, to spend and not a second to waste in spending it. Couple this with high expectations of product and staff knowledge and this is where your retail experience will turn sour. Halfords, as with any other retailer, buy low and sell high. Basic profitability. It's the same with staff however, they want bang for their buck! So in come the teenagers looking for their first part time job, with little or no knowledge, but at least they're cheap! So what do you expect when you go into halfords on a busy saturday afternoon and enquire to the 16 year old about the satnavs which you have no knowledge about?! It disgusts me to read some of the comments about what people have moan about. And personal attacks on the look and literacy of staff at these stores is laughable when the composer of the comment cannot use a spell checker himself! My local halfords store has given me a fair share of good and bad experiences, but generally when you find the right salesperson it can be nothing but pleasing to shop the store. I expect little but get a lot, and don't expect the £70 bicycle I purchased at christmas to give me hassle free usage for years to come. Try harder to see good in retailers like halfords and don't just throw your toys out of the pram at the earliest opportunity!
