"New Start for all at Steads"
A review of Stead & Simpson by Lizzielipstick - Wednesday 13th of February 2008
I have worked for Stead and Simpsons for nearly 10 years now, having started as a saturday girl whilst at school/college/university and gradually worked my way up to being a manager. I enjoy working for the company, the people are great and I've always experianced a great atmosphere in all the stores I've been in. However over recent years I have noticed the decline in the company, steering it sharply away from the good reputation it has enjoyed for over 150 years. I'm obviously extremely sad for the colleaques that have lost their jobs or are facing redundency, many of whom I know personally and I wouldn't have wished recent events on any of them. From the companies point of view and for the remaining employee's, I see the recent take-over as good thing for the future of the stead and simpson name. We will finally be able to do all the things we haven't been able to do due to money and staffing issues. Also the new management team seem to know what they are doing, and are eager to hear the points of view of the employee's. This really embraces the knowledge and experiance of the staff, many of which have been with in the company/retail business for a number of years and can provide valuable insight into the business at store level. I'm looking forward to moving on with the company, and hope we will be facing a bright new future based on the good name and reputation of the Stead and Simpson brand. I welcome any new members of staff and hope they will help us continue to provide the great customer service I'm sure we all give, and that i know I expect from my staff.
