" Errors with delivery"A review of Royal Mail - Cambridge Delivery Office by Mrs S Mahalingham - Saturday 1st of March 2008Advertisements
I had a letter today corectly addressed (name, address post code) but the postage was underpaid by 6p as the envelope was 5mm bigger than the normal 1st class post. Instead of the postman knocking on my door to ask for the excess or leaving the Royal mail card for extra postage at my address(no 49) the R M card was addressed to no 41 with my name and delivered to no 41. Luckily the person moving out of no 41(who knew me by name) had returned to the house and handed over the R M card to me at 12 noon. To note:- I had two other letters delivered to my address today with my name. I went to Coral park and collected the letter paying the excess 1.06 instead of the 6p. The person in the post office accepted that it was their mistake delivering to no 41. said i did not have to collect the letter if i did not want to. I paid the money and collected the letter. It was mere luck that I met my neighbour. So I think I should get a refund and compensation for the mistake of the post office of addressing the RM card to incorrect baddress. I would like a response from Royal mail. |
