A really enjoyable meal in one of Cambridge's most-overlooked restaurants.

It had a far more family-feel about it than Bella Italia and the host of eateries that promise the GENUINE ITALIAN EXPERIENCE.

Food was good, hot and fantastically price. Fantastic in the good way, rather than otherwordly. Decor was somewhere between rustic provincial villa and brothel, with plum-tomato red walls and a penchant for plastic fruit displays. But good lighting attenuated our evening by imbuing the occasion with dramatic chiascuro. And the background music wasn't too loud.

The seats are huge, so if you're a big big person then they cater for you in more ways then one. Hurrah!

Service was swift, personable and frequent.

Our party was on the occasion of a birthday, and the young man in question got a free dessert, and gin and tonic. WHICH IS JUST SO NICE TO SEE IN THIS MEAGRE DAY AND AGE.

So, in total, hot-foot it down to this place and revel.
