"Flat beer, flat atmosphere"
A review of The Cambridge Blue by Good service fiend - Sunday 16th of March 2008
There's been a recent change of management, and what a shame. The Cambridge Blue is a lovely venue, once renown for its excellent selection of beautifully kept and served beers - so popular usually standing room only. But, a recent Saturday night was disappointing. Our group of four had two different beers, one soda & lime, one cider. All were flat and insipid - even the soda & lime was like tap water. We even talked about returning them, but couldn't be bothered. The pub wasn't full, as such the atmosphere had lost its friendly warmth and vigour. Perhaps the locals had already cottoned on and gone elsewhere. New owners, please pay attention to your core product - it will be a real shame for this Cambridge landmark to become a known for poor beer and service (like the Alexander, around the corner).
