Quick Link: The Maypole
"Not to be missed!"
A review of The Maypole by Dave - Wednesday 25th of June 2003For once, a pub that's not part of a huge bland chain. Admittedly it doesn't look like much - a rather dark building overshadowed by a multistorey car park - but this family-run pub more than makes up for this with the best service in central Cambridge. One of the few places where you can actually drink top-quality cocktails at a very reasonable price (the 'happy hour' runs from 5 til 11 every day), the staff here actually care whether their customers come back (where else would the barman go and find some extra chairs from a store room for you when the ones in the pub are all taken?). The Maypole attracts a mixture of students and town residents, and is definitely worth a visit if you're in the Park Street Car Park area...
