"USED TO BE OUR FAVOURITE NOW OUR WORST"
A review of Chilis Grill & Bar by Sam Smith - Monday 14th of April 2008
After visiting the restauant Saturday night i walked out disgusted with various aspects of the restaurant. Firstly, i must say the chillis has been my favourite restaurant for many years and after leaving Cambridge 3 years ago i have not been back since. Therefore, i was eager to go back. We were seated quickly and ordered our food. We ordered the bottomless nachos but which came back covered in salt and asked for them to be changed. Then a waitress came with our main meals to which we said sorry but our starter has been returned and we are waiting for it, she then asked why and when we told her she rudely replied "oh we don't change the nachos, they are all we have" to which we replied that yes they were getting changed. So we had our main meal before our starter, the old Chillis and any other restaurant would have took them back and waited.
One of us had the grilled chicken and ribs which was tasteless, cold and overcooked. I had the chicken tacos, which was simply flat bread, hard tasteless chicken and cheap grated cheese (which used to be melted and much nicer). We had the simple bottomless drinks but was disgusted when one of us asked the waitress for a top up she replied with, "I can't do all these tables, its too busy". Thus, the £36 we paid for this meal should not have been paid but we left without a fuss and will no longer return.
