"Baskets"

A review of Aldi by Martin - Sunday 15th of June 2008

I worked in a aldi store for 18 months, i still work for aldi and have done for nine years. we trialled baskets and on average lost 100 in 2 months. at an average price of £10 each this is £1000, multiply this by 6500 stores this is a lot of money and will only put up the price of your shopping. an average shopping bill for aldi is between £10 and £20 so please do not say we only want people buying large trollies full of shopping because we dont we want and need you all. we are a low budget low margin company and unfortunately cannot afford to keep replacing baskets.
