"Fantastic shop but suspicious staff"

A review of Nasreen Dar Store by Arief - Monday 30th of June 2003

This shop has a fantastic range of foods, including unusual vegetables and pulses, and many Asian and Middle Eastern foods. They have a refridgerator full of Indian foods - pakora, potato kebabs, onion bhajia.
The selection of foods is superior to any other shop in the area. In fact the only shop I can think of in Cambridge which beats this for exotic foods is Al Amin on Mill Road.

However, the middle aged man and woman who run this shop seem to be very suspicious of their customers. I have been in there many times and they always watch you like a hawk. Shop staff also start hanging around the shopping isle you are in, projecting a feeling of mistrust and suspicion. It can at times spoil your shopping experience in what is otherwise an awesome shop.
