This is the best Chinese restaurant in Cambridge in the mid-range/budget category. Though not as snazzy as the pricey Peking on the same street, Shanghai is every bit as good in terms of quality.

The place is a low-key affair but has a good ambience in the upstairs seating area. The staff offer excellent service, helpful and polite.

Typical price for a meal for two will be about £20 with starters, main course and tea. The portions are large and should be sufficient for two people usually. Check out the diced chilly beef and the wheat cake.
