"PARKING FINES - HOW NOT TO GET THEM"
A review of Aldi by Bemused - Friday 29th of August 2008
If you were parked in a metered parking space and you overstayed the time, would you expect a fine? YES! If you were in a Pay & Display parking area, and you overstayed the time, would you expect a fine? YES! So why do you think you should NOT have to pay when you are over the time allowed (which is usually 1.30 hours plus a 5 minute grace period)?? Bear in mind that if you go OVER the 5 minutes grace period you will then be fined for the time over 1 hour 30 minutes. So, how do you NOT get a fine? If you spend more than £30 and you know you are over the time limit, make sure you keep your receipt. When you get the Parking Charge Notice, send it with the receipt to the Regional office concerned (NOT the Holly Lane address unless you want to have major delays). You will have the ticket cancelled. Or - don't overstay your welcome.
