I used to work at footlights and would like to clear up a few grey areas. I quite agree that the idea of automatically adding a service charge to tables of less than ten is outrageous. Simply refuse to pay it! Be under no illusions that it is distributed fairly between staff, it is not. It simply further lines the pockets of the fat cat who is currently running the place (and he is a very fat greedy cat!) If you wish to leave a tip give it directly to your server and insist they do not declare it. Commiserations to any staff still working there!
