"Best Chinese Takeaway in Cambridge (this one really is!)"

There are several excellent Chinese takeaways across the city, and most of the people who've posted their own favourites on this site have a good argument. But for us (and a lot of other people), the best Chinese Takeaway in Cambridge has to be The Mermaid, an unremarkable-looking establishment at the very far end of Chesterton High Street. It's well known locally that the chef/owner has an extraordinary CV, and it shows in the cooking. As with any such takeaway, however, all I can suggest is that you try it yourself and see. We think it's worth the trip from the other side of town. You may do too.
