"Loch Fyne - the service problem"

A review of Loch Fyne Oyster Bar by Ellen - Monday 7th of July 2003

I've always enjoyed the food at Loch Fyne in Cambridge, but the service is quirkly likeable at best and at worst it's slow and amateurish.

Went to the Loch Fyne restaurant on Loch Fyne and the service was just as peculiar. We were kept waiting for ages. The waitress dropped and broke a glass on the table and didn't clear it up properly.

I actually feel a bit sorry for the staff there - the problem seems to be a combination of not enough training, a casual culture and too much expected for too little pay. Re: fresh fish in Cambridge - fishmonger on the market is a much better bet.
